"Honey, I Shrunk the Osmonds!"
14" x 24"
Many thanks to Hannah Stepehenson for contributing the below comments regarding this painting:
I have some comments about this piece: First, imagine Donnie and Marie Osmond in their forties. Conjure up their slightly-too-close-to-be-wholesome relationship. Now, shrink them not into children, but into mini-adults - shrink them into their porcelain doll adult selves. This artist is truly genius. Note the discomfort the viewer feels in relation to the use of cramped space, the disturbing pleats in "Li'l Marie's" pants, and the well-placed artist's signature. This piece is decidedly Freudian, is it not? I also appreciate the artist's nod to the passage of time, as it appears that Marie is inserting/removing her dentures.
Well spoken, Ms. Stephenson!
