"Photo Realist Hair Salon Advertisement"

1980, 48" x 36"

Yet another piece that I'm sure was professionally done yet discarded by its owners (see "Family Portrait.." in Gallery IV). Rest assured, I was extremely pleased to rescue the painting from it's dusty resale shop environs for the princely sum of $24. The fetish-like quality of the subjects' hair leads me to believe that this once hung in a ritzy suburban salon (or as one gallery visitor commented, was an artist's study for a condom ad). Although the electronic image shown here doesn't do the work justice, the quality of this painting is really quite stunning, and it looks great hanging above our guest bed.
