Erna, 11" x 14"
Unfortunately I was unable to photograph the full frame of this painting which extends eight 2" pieces of wood beyond the frame's four sides. If one was to trace along the outer edges of the wood, the shape would resemble a "#" sign with the painting smack-dab in the middle square of the imaginary "tic-tac-toe" board. Initially I was so entranced with the crude framing job that I did not notice the diminutive Dachshund curled up on the portly Bavarian's lap. A fine rendering of domestic tranquility which would surely have Jan Vermeer and Franz Hals rolling in their graves.
