"Yet Another Modigliani Maiden"

18" x 36"

As fine an example of the exaggerated Mannerist style pioneered by 19th Century Italian artist Modigliani as I've seen yet (see also "Elongated Nude in Green" in Gallery II). This intriguing woman's arms and fingers are exquisitely crafted, and the unnatural curve of her body seemingly draws the viewer into a strange and mysterious world. As an added bonus, the canvas at one time exhibited a three-inch tear smack-dab in the middle of the figure's forehead. However, I am proud to report that through the valiant efforts of our team of art restoration experts, the Gallery was able to bring this piece back to its original splendor, none-the-worse for the wear.
