A recent addition to the "hall of pets" on the walls of my basement stairway (along with the next painting in Gallery XIII), this painting is dedicated to the memory of my dearly departed feline friend, Prudence. The "painting-within-a-painting" of birds hanging on the background wall is reminiscent of a similar Van Gogh image containing a picture of a Japanese print.
